Family Literacy Program
What it's like:
Learners work on improving literacy skills, but bring their children (8 years and under) to class too. Classes are held Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday in our Meadville and Titusville Family Literacy offices.
Family Literacy Components:
Adult Education: Parents work on subjects such as basic reading, writing, spelling, and math. GED and driver's license exam preparation are also available.Early Childhood Education: Children begin learning at Head Start, pre-school, or other education programs.
Parent Time: Parents meet in groups each week where they discuss topics that are important to them. Special workshops are also presented.
Parent and Child Together Time: Parents support their child's learning through literacy activities, songs, games, and play.
Family Literacy improves skills in:
