GED Exam Information
What is the GED?
The GED, or General Educational Development Test, can be taken by students that have not received their high school diploma. It tests reading, writing, mathematics, social studies and science. GED classes at the READ Program can help you prepare for the test by working to improve your skills in these areas.

Retesting
You can retake any subtest. However, you may only take each subtest three times a year.
Transcripts
Individuals who have passed the GED Test may fill out a GED transcript request form online, then mail in the form and $3.00 fee per transcript. The $3.00 fee is non-refundable. Click here for the online request form.
Requests for GED transcripts MUST be accompanied by a MONEY ORDER or CASHIER'S CHECK for $3.00 per transcript made out to the Commonwealth Diploma Program. Personal checks and cash are not accepted. It takes approximately 6-8 weeks to process a transcript request. Duplicate diplomas are not issued. When sending a request, please include:

Approximate year of testing
Birth date
Social security number
Address where transcript is to be sent
Phone number where you can be reached during the day
$3.00 money order or cashier's check for each transcript
