| Programs & Services The Crawford County READ Program can help! Click here if you are interested in joining us as a learner. We offer the following programs and services at no charge to the individual:
| Adult Literacy Program One on One Tutoring and Small Group Classes
One-on-one tutoring of adults age 17 and over in the areas of reading, writing, math, spelling, English as a Second Language, GED preparation, High School Diploma, assistance with passing different exams, such as driver's license, practical nursing entrance exam, CDL, ASVAB, etc. Volunteer tutors are utilized from the community and Allegheny College. Learners meet on a one-on-one basis with their volunteer tutor twice weekly for 1 1/2 hours or more per session. Training and materials are provided at no charge to the participant. For learners already enrolled in the program, we offer Impact classes, which provide extra opportunities to increase literacy and job skills. Available classes include: -intensive GED preparation -Budgeting and finance -Driver permit training -Writing -Nutrition -Job skills- writing resumes and cover letters, interview skills, research -Distance (online) learning opportunities Click here for more information on the Adult Literacy Program. |

| Family Literacy
Classroom instruction in the same areas as above, but in addition, parents may bring children 8 years and under to the classroom. Instruction includes adult education, parent time, and parent and child together time, where parents learn ways to raise their child to be a reader.  | Move Up
Learning in the context of work! TANF (Temporary Assistance for Needy Families) clients attend classes to pursue GED and educational goals while engaging in activities that will prepare them for the workforce. Learners are referred by the Welfare system. Instruction is intense, with 20-24 hours per week offered. |
Public Speaking on Literacy Issues
 | Our staff is available to speak to social, service, church, or other groups on the issues of literacy and what is offered by the Crawford County READ Program. |
PA WIN Affiliate

| PA WIN, or the Pennsylvania Workforce Improvement Network, is designed to strengthen the basic skills of the workforce so that improvements can be seen in attendance, safety, quality control, etc. READ is available to provide customized instruction for the workforce. Workforce foundation skills training is offered to incumbent workers through a start up grant or fee for service.
